FIL Tell Tail Paint aerosols can be used as tail paint, or as very good general purpose stock markers particularly suitable for cattle (not for use on wool). Colours are fluoro, and are highly visible and will usually last up to four weeks, even in wet weather. So as well as being genuine tail paints for mating identification, they are also ideal for warning marks in the dairy. Another great feature with FIL is that the can empties its full contents, even if used horizontally. One can will do 40-50 average tail marks. Net contents 500ml.

Another good simple way to keep track of the days for milk withholding periods. Firstly the milker must establish correctly the number of milkings to be withheld. The Tell Tail tag or tags should then have tabs removed to leave in place just the number for the required milkings following the treatment. Apply the tag (or tags) to the cow’s tail, and remove the “T” tab after completing treatment. Then remove a tab at each subsequent milking. When the last tab comes off, remove the Tell Tail.
FILTell Tail is the original tail paint applicator product. Just pull off the sealing cap and lightly squeeze the bottle. Paint is oil-based. The plastic bottles do not flatten out, even after repeated use. Replace the cap after each usage. (To keep the brush head in top condition, apply a little vaseline inside the cap, to keep air out).
Detail paint is water based, so cleaning up is easy. There is no irritation. The fluoro colours are brighter and even more visible than Tell Tail paint. Just pull off sealing cap and lightly squeeze bottle. Brush head is incorporated. Re-cap after use. Marks up to 21 days duration.
Tail paint especially prepared for use in the FIL Tail Painter kit. Water-based fluoro colours. The water-based product makes cleaning of brushes and equipment much easier, and the fluoro colours are more visible. Non-irritant. Easily cleaned up.

Although the applicators are very popular, the old ‘brush-and-tin’ method of application still has many advantages. Not only is it more economical, it can also be quicker to use, especially in large dairies where one person can move quickly along the row painting tail bones, An old ice cream container is ideal, along with a cheap disposable brush. Oil-based, but just stand brushes in water overnight and they can be used again. Average use will create about 80-100 tail marks per litre of paint.
Detail is the new water-based fluoro tail paint from FIL especially prepared for use in the FIL Tail Painter kit. The water-based product makes cleaning of brushes and equipment much easier, and the fluoro colours are more visible. Detail dries fast (about 5 min), but being non-solvent based it is less irritant to severely rubbed cows.
